Equally brilliant to the color of Antelope Canyon is the texture. The desaturated version of this image showcases the striations and curvaceous form of its interior and the layers “written” into the rock as a result of water and wind erosion, telling the story of time gone by.
Although, I was fortunate to have the opportunity to shoot in Antelope Canyon, on Navajo Nation, this was one of my most challenging and more stressful shoots. The dust was in constant motion, disrupting my image sensor, forcing the camera to enter self cleaning mode. Time was of the essence, as I entered at noon intending to capture the light streaming directly from above.
