MIXMASTER 2024 Juried Members Exhibition

MIXMASTER is an exhibition that seeks to discover and recognize the talents of the Mattatuck Museum's artist members working in New England and the Tri-State region. Initiated to support and recognize contemporary art, MIXMASTER provides an opportunity for established and emerging artists to debut their most recent work.

The juror for MIXMASTER 2024 is Susan Eley, owner and director of Susan Eley Fine Art.

 


Exhibition:                           Sunday, January 28 – Sunday, March 3, 2024
Reception & Awards:          Sunday, January 28, 11:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. Awards announced at 1 p.m.
Location:                             Mattatuck Museum, 144 W Main St, Waterbury, CT 06702
Prizes:                                 First Prize: $500 and a solo show at the Mattatuck Museum (September 1 – November 9, 2024)
                                            Second Prize: $300
                                            Third Prize:  $200
                                            Staff Selection: Upgraded membership to Director’s Circle membership level and all benefits ($500 value)
                                            Visitor’s Award: Upgraded membership to Director’s Circle membership level and all benefits ($500 value)

JUROR: Susan Eley, owner and director of Susan Eley Fine Art

Susan Eley established Susan Eley Fine Art (SEFA) in 2006 in New York City. During the Pandemic, Eley also opened a pop-up gallery in Hudson, which has now become a permanent second location. SEFA hosts a dynamic roster of American and international artists and focuses on contemporary art by emerging and mid-career artists who work in a range of media.

Before establishing the Gallery, Eley was an editor and writer for national and regional publications featuring articles on fine art, dance, and travel. Eley has a BA in Art History from Brown University and an MA in Visual Arts Administration from New York University.

January 28, 2024                                      Exhibition opens; celebration from 11:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. Awards announced at 1 p.m.
March 3, 2024                                          Exhibition closes
